Latest Interview

I recently did an interview for clothing company called Soletron.  It’s been awhile since I did an interview so I thought, why not.

Here’s some of the highlights:

What do you look for in a guy?

“I don’t have a “type” per-se. I have dated guys of all ages, ethnicities, ages, etc… I just like men who are confident, know what they want, and go for it. Men who are honest and sweet but know how to take control. I like to feel safe and protected when I’m with my man. Also, intelligence is a must! If you don’t know the difference between “your” and you’re” you are never getting in my pants!:) And that feeling of “butterflies” is a must! That is something that can’t be forced or faked… either you give me butterflies, or you don’t. If you do, then you’re already halfway there.” :)

What kind of style do you look for in a guy?

“I LOVE a sharp dressed man! Business suits are an instant turn on! I also love fresh, clean button down shirts on a man! Nice sunglasses and a nice watch are a plus.. If you’re a sloppy dresser and dress as if you don’t care about yourself, why should I bother to care about you? I work hard to look my best, especially when I’m with a man I care about. So I figure he can at least show me the same respect.”

Turn offs?

“Liars. Guys who are so obviously saying something because that’s their idea of ‘what a girl would like to hear’ instead of just being genuine. Bad drivers..if you drive slow, especially in the fast lane, then you are not the man for me. Insecurity and jealousy are the 2 ugliest things a man can do. Trust your woman and be confident about what you have with her. If you are not, don’t waste her time or yours.”

and you can see the full interview here on the SoleTon website:

Great interview. While reading your answers, I had a mental image of guys who don’t know the difference between “your” and “you’re” out in a field chasing butterflies with nets.

“Honey of the Day.” Yeah, I like the sound of that :)

  3. Dragonj14 Says:

It seems like I always learn something new about you each time you do an interview.

Good luck with your Penthouse shoot on Thursday, I know you’ve wanted to be in that magazine for a long time and it’s finally happening.

  4. Luorya Says:

Loved the interview and I really do!

“Also, intelligence is a must! If you don’t know the difference between “your” and you’re”

So you are saying that anybody with a bad grammar is unintelligent? Intelligence comes in many forms for example:

“A chimp fishing out a termite off its mound to feed his/her young.”
“Dog wag its tail, bark, howl, and lick to express emotions”

I’m about to graduate with a BA in Anthropology & double minor in Criminology and IIS and honestly I still get mixed up with your & you’re, this & these, hope & wish, double negatives, run ons, punctuations, tenses, etc. But I let my English major friends proof read my papers and power points so they can catch my mistakes, correct it, and explain it to me. That is being smart on my behalf in my opinion. Anyway, I am not trying to get in anybodies pants just trying to prove a point and I love debates! d;o

Aaliyah, I read your interview and found it really interesting. From reading it ( the interview ) you sound like someone who knows what she is looking for and what she really wants and I respect that plus from what you said in the interview I find myself way out of your league. But that is another story. I hope that someday we will cross paths, have a drink or brunch, share small talk and become good friends.

  6. Aaliyah Says:

@Luorya I’m not trying to debate whether knowing how to spell the corect “their” is a form of intelligence or not. I think what I think and I like what I like and it’s not up for debate, sorry. BTW these are spellings we learned in 4th grade. I remember it clear as day, Mrs. Miller taught them to us. She also taught us the difference between nouns, pronouns, verbs, etc.. I don’t think you need an English major to tell the difference. It’s a very simple concept. If you take the time to earn all of these degrees, why not take a couple extra minutes/hours every day to get these ingrained into your head? Just a thought..

Every time I do an interview there are people who don’t like my answers and try to pick them apart or have me change my answers. not gna happen.

  7. Aaliyah Says:

@John the only reason I would be out of your league is because you lack confidence and say things like “You’re out of my league.” if you go back and read my interview I say the #1 thing I’m attracted to is confidence.

  8. Aaliyah Says:

@Guido LOL! See, you GET me;)

  9. Aaliyah Says:

I also had 2 guys on Twitter contact me really upset overt he “type of guy” I said I was going for. They first blew it way out of proportion and explained to ME what kind of a guy it’s “so obvious” that I want, and it was SO wrong and skewed, then they tried to get me to change my mind “but don’t you think you would really want THIS kind of a guy?”
Jeez you guys, I’m sorry I so obviously don’t fit the fantasy of me you have. And my answers weren’t exactly what you were hoping they would be. But this is ME. If you don’t like my answers, don’t read the interviews:/

  10. Luorya Says:

Oh I almost forgot about this post anyway! d;o

“I remember it clear as day, Mrs. Miller taught them to us. She also taught us the difference between nouns, pronouns, verbs, etc..”

Yep growing up I sure did remember how my professors taught me the proper “English structure”, ” Korean structure”, “Filipino structure”. Don’t judge me by the way I grew up in another country where English is not the main spoken or written language. Oh and yes structures of different language are not the same which brings me to….

“I don’t think you need an English major to tell the difference.”

Yes, actually I do. I can’t speak for all the non “English” speakers here but for me “English majors become my buffers. Sometimes when I talk or write I get mixed up with structures that I mentioned earlier. And for….

“If you take the time to earn all of these degrees, why not take a couple extra minutes/hours every day to get these ingrained into your head?”

In my reply, why bother? The same exact reason why an English major don’t require to take Physics or Calculus. They don’t need it. Same in my behalf, why do I need to learn every small detail of English structure if I’m out there learning other culture and chasing bad guys? That is why there is an academic cohorts that can function as one group. They proof read my work and I explain to them “Cultural relativism and crime theories” as a result we benefit on each other. And…..

“Every time I do an interview there are people who don’t like my answers and try to pick them apart or have me change my answers. not gna happen.”

Again I can’t speak for everybody but I never mentioned on my post to change your answer or what not. All I’m doing is critiquing your interview just like how I critique and rate your pictures and movie sets. Last I promise d;o…….

“Jeez you guys, I’m sorry I so obviously don’t fit the fantasy of me you have. And my answers weren’t exactly what you were hoping they would be. But this is ME. If you don’t like my answers, don’t read the interviews:/”

But isn’t it the reason why we pay the $$ figure is to see the contents of the site, leave comments and rate? Or in the case of the other two guys you mentioned “complain” I think it’s a natural reaction from a fan base. Anyway, this will be my last comment for sure I’ll just observe from now on.

    Peace out ^.^ v

  11. Gerald Birmingham Says:

That’s the case when you’re still young:
First, the ideal man–confident, intelligent and sharp dressed
But when you’re already an old maid, you would take any man–even rattled ones, average minded or lower, even sloppy dressed man. No choice!

  12. Aaliyah Says:

@Gerald “no choice?” hunny, there’s always a choice. And I’m not the kind of girl who “settles” ..for anything. “Average-minded or lower?” Um no thanx, I’d rather be alone than settle on someone who doesn’t fulfill me in every single way, at ANY age;)

Guess its time for me to Suit Up!!! :)
